WiFi connection doesn’t work on my Android device
Here are some things you can try to fix your Wi-Fi connection on your Android device:
- Restart your device and your router. This can sometimes fix minor software glitches.
- Make sure that your device is in range of your router. The further away you are from your router, the weaker the signal will be.
- Check to see if other devices are able to connect to your Wi-Fi network. If other devices are working, then the problem is likely with your device.
- Forget the Wi-Fi network and then reconnect to it. To do this, go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi. Tap and hold the name of the Wi-Fi network that you are having problems with and then tap Forget. Then, tap the network name again and enter the password to reconnect.
- Restart your router. To do this, unplug your router from the power outlet for a few seconds and then plug it back in.
- Update your router's firmware. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause problems with Wi-Fi connections. To check for firmware updates, log in to your router's web interface and look for a firmware update section.
- Change the Wi-Fi channel. Some Wi-Fi channels can become congested, which can lead to connection problems. To change the Wi-Fi channel, log in to your router's web interface and look for a Wi-Fi channel setting.
- Reset your router to factory defaults. This should be a last resort, as it will erase all of your custom settings. To reset your router to factory defaults, press the reset button on the back of the router for a few seconds.
If you have tried all of the above and you are still having problems, you can contact your router manufacturer for support.
Here are some additional troubleshooting tips:
- Make sure that your device's Wi-Fi is turned on.
- Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the problem is with your device or with your home Wi-Fi network.
- If you are using a VPN, try disabling it to see if that fixes the problem.
- If you are using a case on your device, try removing it to see if that fixes the problem.
- If you are still having problems, you can try booting your device into Safe Mode to see if the problem is caused by a third-party app.
I hope this helps!
